Allianz Trade, a trade credit insurer, has appointed Matt Williams as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for UK & Ireland, effective July 1st, 2025, succeeding Sarah Murrow.
Murrow will become CEO of Allianz Trade in the Americas also effective July 1st, 2025. Both appointments are subject to the standard regulatory approval requirements.
Williams brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held a diverse portfolio of international roles since joining Allianz Trade in 2004. He began his career as a Credit Analyst before being promoted to Regional Risk Manager for the UK & Ireland in 2009.
After six years, he took on his first regional role as the Head of Risk Underwriting for Allianz Trade in NEUR, from 2015 to 2020.
In 2020, Williams became Risk Director for Benelux, based in Belgium, eventually moving to Paris in 2021 to assume the position of Credit Director for Allianz Trade for Multinationals.
In 2024, he relocated back to London to join the NEUR Regional Management Team in his current role as Regional Credit Director.
Murrow has over two decades of experience with the business, joining Allianz Trade in North America in 2004. She held the roles of Client Service, Commercial Underwriting and Strategic Account Manager. Moving on to become the Regional Head of Broker Management in 2011.
She was appointed as Global Head of Commercial Underwriting & Product Development, based in Paris, after five years.
From 2017 to 2021, she served as Regional Head of Market Management, Commercial Underwriting & Distribution for Allianz Trade in Northern Europe, before moving to her current CEO position at Allianz Trade in the UK & Ireland in 2021.
Allianz Trade also recently announced the retirement of Benoît des Cressonnières, Global Head of Reinsurance of Allianz Trade and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Euler Hermes Reinsurance AG, on September 30th, 2025.
