In his new role, Hekstra will lead Ardonagh Europe\u2019s regional growth strategy as the business continues to expand its presence in the corporate, SME, and high-net-worth brokerage markets.<\/p>\nArdonagh Netherlands, the Dutch arm of The Ardonagh Group, has announced the appointment of Wim Hekstra as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1st, 2025.<\/p>\n
In his new role, Hekstra will lead Ardonagh Europe\u2019s regional growth strategy as the business continues to expand its presence in the corporate, SME, and high-net-worth brokerage markets.<\/p>\n
He will oversee the executive leadership team at Ardonagh Netherlands, comprising Valentina Visser (Chief Operating Officer), Robert de Vos (Chief Financial Officer), Dov Rychter (Managing Director, L\u00e9ons), Fred Willemze (Managing Director, Klap), and Bart-Jan Kastrop (Managing Director, Classicus and PIA).<\/p>\n
Hekstra succeeds Sunny L\u00e9ons, who will continue to support Ardonagh Netherlands. L\u00e9ons joined the group in 2022 following Ardonagh\u2019s first continental European acquisition, L\u00e9ons Group (L\u00e9ons).<\/p>\n
Under L\u00e9ons\u2019 leadership, Ardonagh saw strong growth in the Netherlands, including the acquisitions of Klap Verzekeringsmakelaar (Klap) and Classicus. In January, the business also acquired a majority stake in Private Insurance Assuradeuren B.V. (PIA) and Private Insurance Nederland B.V. (PIN)<\/a>, two key players in the Dutch high-net-worth insurance sector.<\/p>\n Hekstra joins from Bain & Company, where he served as a Senior Adviser on strategy and M&A projects in the financial sector. He also served as a supervisory board member at ASN Impact Investors.<\/p>\n Prior to that, Hekstra spent five years at Aegon Netherlands as a board member and Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Sun Life Financial and ING\u2019s insurance and life businesses in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n Conor Brennan, CEO of Ardonagh Europe, said, \u201cWe are delighted to have Wim on board.
