RLI Corp. has reported an underwriting income of $70.5 million for Q1 2025, on an 82.3% combined ratio, compared to $77.7 million on a 78.5% combined ratio in Q1 2024.<\/p>\n

In Q1 2025, the Property segment contributed $56.9 million to underwriting income, followed by $11.5 million from the Surety segment and $2.1 million from the Casualty segment. The firm\u2019s Q1 2025 underwriting result also included $27.4 million in favourable development from prior years\u2019 loss reserves, down from $37.4 million in 2024.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, net incurred losses related to 2025 catastrophe events stood at $12 million.<\/p>\n
RLI\u2019s gross premiums written in Q1 2025 stood at $491,106 million, up 5% from Q1 2024, driven by continued momentum in the firm\u2019s casualty segment.<\/p>\n
Net investment income for Q1 2025 also increased 12% to $36.7 million, compared to the same period in 2024.<\/p>\n
