Independent insurance broker Lockton has announced the appointment of Bård A. Poulsson as International Marine Lead, effective September 1, 2025.
Based in Oslo, Poulsson will work to strengthen Lockton’s Global Marine focus on client needs in the Nordic region and our strategic expansion internationally.
The executive has over 31 years of marine insurance expertise, relationships that extend around the world, and deep market insights, having spent ten of them at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
At Gallagher, Poulsson most recently served as Divisional Director and was based in the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC). He moved from Gallagher’s London based Specialty team to lead the marine practice for Gallagher’s ACE Re.
Prior to this, Poulsson served as Regional Practice Leader Marine – Middle East at Willis for over four years following his role as VP Insurance & Protection at Polarcus.
He also spent over 15 years at Marsh, where he held a number of roles including Vice president and Senior President.
